Madison, Wisconsin Chapter
Welcome to another educational year in the world of employee benefits, and, more specifically, to another season of WEB meetings. Your steering committee has put together another exciting list of programs for the upcoming year, and I encourage you to put the meetings on your calendar right away.
Here is the meeting schedule for the upcoming year:
September 17, 2008 - Dinner Meeting
Attorney Brian Anderson from the law firm of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, S.C. and Pranav Shah from WEA will lead a discussion on the new 403(b) regulations.
October 15th, 2008 - Lunch Meeting
Attorney Todd Martin from the law firm of Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C. will lead a discussion on health insurance issues.
November 13, 2008 - Lunch Meeting
Amy Atcha, Associate Regional Director at the Department of Labor, will lead a discussion on current issues affecting qualified plans.
December 3, 2008 - Lunch Meeting
Cindy Van Bogaert from the Boardman law firm will lead a discussion on Small Retirement Plans: Plan Design Considerations and Impact of Special Rules.
February 4, 2009 - Lunch Meeting
John O'Meara, attorney with Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, will lead a discussion on 457 Plans and Retirement Planning for non-profit entities.
March 5, 2009 - Dinner Meeting
Joan Gucciardi, MSPA, CPC, President of Gucciardi Benefit Resources, Inc., will provide an update on retirement plan topics of interest to our group.
April, 2009 - Lunch Meeting, date TBD
A speaker to be announced.
Dinner meetings are typically held at The Madison Club, 5 E. Wilson St., Madison, and begin at 6:00 p.m. In addition, we will be hosting a cocktail reception prior to each of our dinner meetings starting at 5:30 p.m. Lunch meetings are typically held at the lower level conference center in the US Bank building, in downtown Madison, and begin at noon.
Meeting Costs
The rate for members is $35 per dinner meeting. The guest rate is $50 per dinner meeting. Lunch meetings will be $15 per member and $20 per guest.
